Camp Counselor

We are accepting applications for our Summer 2025 season. 

Requirements:

  • At least one year of college
  • Participation in pre-camp orientation and training
  • CPR and Basic First Aid certification (or ability to acquire it before camp)

Responsibilities:

As a camp counselor you will live in the cabins with the campers and also instruct an activity. Employment Dates: 

June 8 – August 2, plus mandatory training date(s) in May.

Our summer 2025 camp program begins June 8 and ends August 2. Mandatory staff training begins May 30, with the possibility of a May 25 arrival for specialty activity training.

Salary: $500/week including room and board

Healthcare Provider

Mountain Meadow Ranch is unlike any other summer camp. We are tech-free, determined to help our campers grow in character through outdoor experience, and strive for a family-like atmosphere. We invite our healthcare providers to be a part of this by joining us during campfires, mealtimes, and by giving you the freedom to be out and about with the whole camp family.

Our small camp size, with a camp population typically around 150 people per session, makes for a manageable work load!

Requirements:

  • CA or RN License, or higher

Responsibilities:

  • Dispensing camper and staff medications
  • Providing first-aid for any bumps and bruises
  • Providing TLC to the homesick campers that visit you
  • Providing basic mental health support as needed to staff and campers
  • Keeping accurate records of camper visits to the medical center
  • Maintaining an organized, clean medical center

Salary:

Healthcare Support

While we serve a small camp population of about 150, we have found that having an extra set of hands to support our main Healthcare Provider helps ensure the thorough and competent care of every camp member. The position is available to any individual, with a minimum CPR/First Aid/AED certification required. This position is ideally suited for a student on the way to a career in the medical field wishing to obtain more hands on experience in the nuanced social/emotional aspects of care when working with youth and children.

    Sample Duties:

    • Measuring vital signs under supervision
    • Infirmary cleaning such as: Changing linens and assisting with laundry, gathering and disposing of trash, washing surfaces, dishes, dusting, sweeping, mop, vacuuming
    • Restocking of camp water bottles, ice, toilet paper, tissues and other basic supplies
    • Cleaning and dressing minor injury (scrape, splinter, bug bite, etc)
    • Cooling measures and encouraging oral hydration
    • Assisting with gathering meals for campers as needed
    • Walk campers to activities as needed
    • Soft skills such as communication, interpersonal skills, active listening, patience
    • Engage in play with campers such as cards, board games, puzzles
    • Assist with various camp duties as assigned

    Employment Dates:

    May 30 – August 2

    Salary: 

    Starting $600/week including room and board and travel stipend if traveling from out of state. Depending on certifications and level of experience, higher salary may be negotiated. 

    A private cabin closely situated near the camp healthcare facilities is provided.

    Kitchen Manager

    Join us at Mountain Meadow Ranch as our Kitchen Manager! In this essential role, you’ll oversee buying, budgeting, meal planning and preparation for our camp community of around 150 people, ensuring that all meals are nutritious and compliant with health standards. You’ll lead a team of support staff, typically international, adapt menus for special dietary needs, and maintain a clean and efficient kitchen. If you have a positive, optimistic attitude, a strong work ethic, and enjoy working with children in a positive, family-like atmosphere, we’d love to hear from you!  

    Requirements:

    Must hold Safe Serve Manager Certification

    Salary:

    $10,000 starting salary for 10 weeks – negotiable. Room/board provided.

    Kitchen Support Staff

    Our support staff are essential to the well-being of camp life. We seek individuals with servant hearts who enjoy being in the kitchen and providing a clean, healthy environment for others. As support staff, you could serve in any of the following areas: food prep, dishwashing, laundry, dining hall duties, and cleaning.

    Since this is a service role, you would not be working directly with our campers, but during your free time, you would be able to participate in all that the camp has to offer! Our support staff consists of 4-6 other workers with whom you would room within our cozy support staff cabin in the woods, just a short walk to the dining hall!

    Maintenance Staff

    We are a seasonal (June through August) children’s summer camp AND working horse and cattle ranch. We are looking for someone able and willing to do a variety of tasks. It is vital that this person be capable of working without constant supervision.

    It is not required that this person be skilled in all of the areas listed below. Applicant must be at least competent in the following areas:

    • Plumbing – basic problem solving and replacing, installing a new and or fixing the following: toilets, faucets/fixtures, sinks, hot water heaters, thermostats, elements, etc plunging toilets and operating a snake.
    • Electrical – basic problem solving and replacing, installing a new and or fixing the following: lights, light switches, heaters etc.
    • General Building Upkeep – basic problem solving and door knob repair, door replacements and or repair, window replacements, fixing broken windows, dry wall repair/patch, light carpentry when needed, carpet repair/installation, deck repair and installations, small concrete repairs etc.
    • Ranch Work – fence building and repair, cattle and horse care/feeding and doctoring, hauling and stacking hay, dragging meadows, irrigation etc
    • Grounds Keeping – lawn mowing, weed eating, hedge trimming, raking, fixing and replacing sprinkler system, some aerating, thatching and fertilizing.

    Requirements:

    • Full season commitment
    • Previous experience in maintenance
